TO ENTER AN EVENT: First, Register. Get your password by email and then LogIn. The LogIn process sends you to a Dashboard Page. There are four tabs that are labeled, from left to right, as: “Dashboard” “Write” “Manage” and “Profile”. Using either the “Write a post” link on the Dashboard page, or the “Write” tab at the top of the page, open the “Write Post” page.
Fill in the Title. Use a standardized format when creating the “Title” section of your entry: Always start with the Activity Name and location or sponsor (i.e., Title: “Town Fair - Warsaw”)
Next, cursor or tab into the Post box. Enter more information about the event. Try to remember the “who, what, when, where and why” of every announcement. Be sure to identify your post in one or more categories listed on the blue drop down box on the right, labeled “Categories.” Leave contact information like the web address and phone number. Put a $ at the end to indicate that there is a fee.
Down at the very bottom of the page is a section called “Event Editor.” Click the button with the “+” sign located under the word “Start.” Two date boxes will appear (”Start” and “End”). Next, click on the small box located on the right hand side of each date box. When you do this, a calendar will appear. Follow the instructions on the calendar to enter a start date/time and an end date/time. The time is in a 24 hour format so 1pm would be 13:00. Check the “all day” box if it is appropriate. For multi-day events click the “+” sign to open up additional date boxes.
To get google maps to show on the listing open (click on the plus sign) for Menu Waypoints. Leave the order field blank - fill in the address and click Lookup. This will find the GPS location so the listing will display a map and marker with the event location.
The final step to posting the event is to click on the button labeled “Publish”. This button is located below and to the right of the Post box. You do not need to change any of the other settings on this page for routine events. Events that run longer than a month will be placed in the Pages category by the webmaster.
Once you event is published you may view it on the calendar. Should you need to edit the event information you may logIn again to edit the event under the Manage tab.
