Essex County/Richmond County Fourth of July Celebration — Little league benefit at Essex County Little League Park. The Warsaw Tigers will play the Tappahannock Wildcats in the 7:15 p.m. Old Timers Softball Game, followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.

The Kilmarnock-Irvington-White Stone Rotary host the Chesapeake Bay Seafood Festival as their annual fund raiser. Enjoy oysters, soft shell crabs, crab cakes, scallops, steamed shrimp, fish, fried shrimp, clam chowder, pork barbecue, french fried sweet potatos, french fries, hush puppies, corn on the cob, salad, cole slaw, ice cream, soda, beer, wine, bottled water and an assortment of mixed drinks. The Reedville Bluefish Derby is an annual fishing tournament fundraiser for Smith Point Sea Rescue. First prizes for largest bluefish and largest rockfish are $5,000.

Smith Point Sea Rescue, Inc. is a volunteer sea rescue service which covers the middle Chesapeake Bay between the Potomac River and the Rappahannock River. All members are volunteers.

A unique art festival showcasing all forms of wildfowl art. Original paintings, prints, carvings of life-size and miniature birds of all kinds, decoys for display or hunting, antique decoys, exquisite bronze sculptures, and handcrafted jewelry are all available to purchase or enjoy viewing.

Exhibitors come from Vermont to Florida and most exhibitors return each year. New exhibitors are selected who enhance the reputation of a high quality art show.

The show is sponsored by the White Stone Volunteer Fire Department and all proceeds benefit the operating expenses of the fire department. Many visitors are amazed that a rural fire department hosts such a first-rate art exhibition.

Located in the small town of White Stone, which is on the Rappahannock River, near the Chesapeake Bay, the Rappahannock River Waterfowl Show has become a popular destination for art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Recent shows have had attendance of over 3,000 people.
