The second annual Reedville Fishermen’s Museum Family Day will be held on Saturday, February 21st from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. This year’s theme is “The Chesapeake Bay - A Partnership between Humans and Nature”. The event aims to raise awareness about the spirit and wealth of The Bay. Activities will focus on The Bay’s economic importance, its changing culture, and our interdependent livelihood.

Local experts and volunteers will share science and history lessons, the latest data, and interactive displays. Family Day is for kids of all ages. Admission is free. Groups welcome. Food available. Contact 804-453-6529 for further information.

March 21-April 22: 4th-Grade Northern Neck History Fair Exhibition Exhibits and essays from the 2009 4th-Grade Northern Neck History Fair on display March 21-March 28, Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery, Main Street, Kilmarnock.
On display at Historic Christ Church March 31-April 22, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Sponsored by the Foundation for Historic Christ Church, Bank of Lancaster, Bay Trust, and Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery.

Open to all fourth-grade students from Northumberland Elementary School, Lancaster Middle School, and Chesapeake Academy in Irvington.

The fair is designed to promote interest in and research on life in colonial and revolutionary Virginia by the area’s fourth-graders, who study the period as part of their Virginia Studies Standards of Learning.

The Potomac River Festival is a 3 day event beginning with the Firemen’s Parade Friday evening at 7:30pm. The Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary also sponsors a carnival.

Saturday events begins with the Grand Feature Parade at noon and fun continues with music, dancing, arts & craft vendors, (10-5 Sat & Sun), food vendors, evening concert with beer & wine sales, FIREWORKS at 9pm and many other activities happening during the day.

Sunday the arts, crafts, & food vendors continue their sales and view the Grand Boat Parade traveling up river from Monroe Bay to the town pier. The pet contest and parade is on town stage at 2 music on stage at 1pm.
Other events may be added so please stay tuned!
