Saluda, VA – The Middle Peninsula Business Development Partnership and Ray Petrie of Belle Mount Vineyards are partnering to present an evening seminar on grape growing and winemaking. This workshop will be presented at the Saluda Professional Center on Monday, November 10, from 6 until 8 p.m. Key topics to be covered in the workshop will include Vineyard Site Selection, Soil and Nutrients, Grape Varieties, Trellis Designs, Pruning, Pest Control, Economics, and Resources. Winemaking Principles will include Fruit Sources, Equipment, and Legal Considerations.

Celebrate the annual grape harvest in a small town event. This year the Stomp will again feature a concert by Robbin Thompson, the Virginia-based singer/songwriter. Bring a blanket or chairs – no coolers please. Lots of new activities for the whole family, from skydivers to a maize maze. Food will be available for purchase along with soft drinks and White Fences’ own Meteor wine.

Weavers, wine-tastings, farm animals, build-your-own rain barrel demonstrations, plant clinic, hay wagon rides, farm tours, discussion of sustainable & best management farm practices and more. Westmoreland and Richmond Counties in the Commonwealth’s scenic Northern Neck. Snack plates, strawberry shortcake will be available.


Free shuttle bus service provided by Northern Neck RideShare from the Chinn House parking lot at Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw to all points on the tour.
